Description:
Vira possesses a pair of fangs that produce venom, which can be injected if she is close enough to bite her foe. The venom is a paralytic, and while it is not particularly strong, it can cause incoordination and difficulty moving for those who receive a dose. The venom itself cannot kill, and even if a victim’s injuries are left unattended they will recover quickly. However, causing weakness in her foe has often been enough for Vira, as the few who have felt her bite could not ward off her vicious attacks once the venom took hold.

General Appearance and Structure:
Vira’s sleek form is covered by glossy, chestnut fur. Her back is peppered with spots of light lavender fur, the type that are most often seen on a young fawn before they fade away, and for whatever reason she seems to have retained hers. Her hooves and eyes are a similar shade of dark violet, her eyes in particular being the darkest. Should one look very, very carefully, it can be seen that her eyes have slitted pupils as many reptiles do. Other than these few splashes of unusual coloration, she looks much like a normal doe.
Her posture is significant in that she carries herself with pride and regality. Vira makes it known by her graceful carriage that she is no common deer, and her imposing presence demands respect. Her gaze can seem intense to those under it, especially if she happens to be angered. By sight alone, it is abundantly apparent that this doe is a monarch at heart. Her motions are perpetually slow, outwardly wary, though there always seems to be an expression of determination on her face. She rarely smiles, but when she does, her reptilian fangs can be seen plainly. She tends to hide this characteristic from her followers, but a mere glimpse of her unsettling grin can make any deer wonder…
Personality

Born a natural leader, Vira is highly charismatic and inspiring in her speech. There is little she will not do to achieve greatness, and ensuring the survival of her herd is her top priority. While many deer are gentle, Vira is fierce. She values strength and endurance, and cares little for being tempered or docile. Her greatest weakness is her pride, and when her leadership is questioned she tends to overreact. Her greatest fear is losing the loyalty of her herd, since she has already experienced the loss of many due to the war, both by death and by refusal to fight for the herd.
General:
Vira, being the eldest of the Nerazi Herd, is seen as their wise and powerful leader. She is their strength, their anchor, and their commanding officer when it comes to war. In a time of peace, she might have been seen as overly vicious or cruel, but as none of the deer alive in the herd remember a time without war, they look to her strength for guidance. Her attitude is seen as a necessity in a time of war. She cares for her deer beyond anything else, and she is willing to sacrifice much in order to secure their safety. She commands respect, and she is followed without question.
Vira has a knack for creating war tactics, and as well as being called “Empress” the herd has also called her their general. Her analytical mind can work wonders to set up offensive and defensive campaigns, and although the deer are at an offensive disadvantage in the war, she is an expert at using the strengths of her individual subjects against the tigers.
Despite the great amount of respect she has earned among her herd, Vira is overly secretive and does not often speak to her subjects one-on-one. She tends to keep her distance, and while she is not giving orders to the herd she is off on her own. She can be difficult to locate when she does not want to be found, and often she will vanish into the deep forests after directing the herd to their next objective.
History
General Before Roleplay:
The peace with the neighboring tigers had been such a blessing to the Nerazi Herd. Food was plentiful, danger was almost nonexistent, and predator and prey lived in peace. Rassla and Jorm, the two leaders of the Nerazi Herd, ruled with peace in their hearts and minds. Vira was their firstborn child, followed shortly by her sister Clarri. The sisters learned how to lead from their honorable parents, and they were beloved amongst the herd.
Many deer of the herd were skilled in alchemy, and Vira chose to learn this trade as well. Medicine could be a useful tool for them, and also for their alliance with the tigers. She became adept and finding and using herbs to create powerful concoctions, and soon it was clear that strength was not her only natural talent. Vira became well known for her new and inventive alchemy recipes, which proved to be useful to the herd’s well-being. However, as she and her sister grew into adulthood, it became clear that Vira was far too unfriendly and anti-social to make a benevolent ruler. Clarri was known for her graciousness and nobility, and it was decided that she would inherit leadership of the herd.
Years passed, and Vira continued her work in alchemy while her sister was groomed for a life of royalty. Tragedy struck the herd when first her father, Jorm, and then her mother, Rassla, fell ill. Vira attended to them, as her skills in alchemy were nearly unmatched, but Rassla and Jorm succumbed to their illness soon after. Distraught, Clarri reluctantly accepted leadership of the herd, and life continued.
Peace would not last long.
Clarri’s death was sudden, and entirely unexpected. She was found in the woods, battered and covered in vicious bite marks. The herd was shocked, and Vira was left to pick up the pieces. It didn’t take long for the herd to come to the conclusion that Clarri had been killed by a tiger. Around the same time, the tigers were outraged by a mysterious disease that was running rampant through their popularion.
The war began.
No deer (with the exception of Vira herself) is old enough to remember these events, as the oldest deer in the herd have all been killed by tigers in their many battles. The deer today call Vira “Empress” because it is all they have ever known, and the herd is not nearly as docile as it once was. She has created a battle-ready herd, one that will follow her without a second thought, and she intends to win this war at all costs.
