As you enter the Arena the stench of rot, decay, and stale blood overwhelms your senses. The tunnel is dark, lit with but a few glowing mushrooms retrieved from the putrid coast just outside. You can feel the cold stone beneath your feet and see the looming log wall ahead of you, spikes jut out from the ground, flesh still hanging from the dangerous pikes. Passing by you still your beating heart, the roar of a thousand creatures just beyond. You can't see it, but you can hear it, smell it. The sounds of ripping flesh, the gargling of dying creatures, drowning in their own blood. The laughter of whatever hell-crazed fool lies just beyond the closed gates, your very last moment of protection. This is the moment, this is where you decide if you'll live and become a victor, or die. The crowd falls silent, the master calls your name.
Then, the gate slides up, revealing the rounded cavern, sprayed with gore. You step in proudly, the crowd begins screaming, seated just above you as the look into the pit from all sides. You hear your name on their tongues, feel the panic, excitement and anger that clings to the room like thick sweat. This is your moment. This here, is your time.
The gates drop, there's a moment of suspense. You hear the intake of their breaths as they wait, see their eyes, expectant. You can't see your foe, but you know it's in here, you can taste it in the air, the stench of death and carries with it.
Welcome to the Arena! If you're here no doubt you've come to fight in a no hold bard contest of power and ability. This is a contest where it is not over till the opposition is dead. If you enter, you either win, or you die. The victor of each fight will receive a reward depending on how difficult the fight was. Now these fights aren't going to be you-can-do-what-ever-you-want, there are rules! There are basics, certain courtesies even we abide by. That doesn't mean we don't want you to rip each other to shreds. Oh no. But without further ado~
::Rules::
You must enter within the stated time on the entry sheet.
You can either make a creature specially for the fights, or take an existing creature.
Any and all damage done to any normal creatures will NOT be taken into the basic RP
Once you have joined a Tournament you will be pitted against another RPer and you must fight them. There will be a minimal of three posts per person before a victor is chosen.
Posts must contain at least 200 words, any less and you'll be forced to add on.
No godmodding what so ever, you will be instantly disqualified if decided by the piers [Competition Organizers and Admins]
You will be given up to a 3 days to respond, a week at max, if you miss your post you will be disqualified.
Over use of magic will be frowned upon, such as healing yourself after every few wounds, remember, magic drains you and you must show this.
Each character by default will have TWO kinds of magic, if you make a character for the fights, you may give him two, if you bring in a character with one, you must add one type, and if you have more then two, you must choose only two to bring in.
Each different fight will have a slightly varied set of rules, be sure to read them first.
Some fights will require your characters to battle, these kinds WILL effect them in the RP
You WILL be pitted against those you care about, and while you won't have to kill them, you will have to wound them.
